What this website does
Very little, by design. These pages are static: they set no cookies, use no analytics or tracking and embed no third-party scripts. Visiting the site does not tell us who you are.
Because we set no cookies, there is nothing here for you to consent to and no cookie banner to dismiss.
Your browser does fetch this site’s typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads. Our hosting provider also keeps ordinary server logs, which may include your IP address, to keep the site secure and running. We do not use either to identify visitors.
When you contact us
If you telephone, email or message us about a garden, or send us an enquiry with the form on our Contact page, we will hold what you tell us: your name and contact details, the address of the garden and whatever you describe about the work. If an enquiry becomes a job we will also hold quotes, invoices, photographs of the work and our visit records.
An enquiry sent with the form goes to Arqor, the system we run our business in, which keeps it with our other enquiries and emails it to us. The form sets no cookies, and the page you sent it from is recorded with it. If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy notice apply to that conversation.
We use this to reply to you, to quote, and to carry out the work if you choose us. In data protection terms we rely on taking steps at your request before a contract, on performing that contract, and on our legitimate interest in running a business and keeping a proper record of our work.
Who else sees it
Only those who need to, to do what you have asked of us: the suppliers who run our email, our enquiries and our job records on our behalf, and our accountants for the books. We do not sell your information to anybody.
How long we keep it
For as long as the work, and any later claim or accounting requirement that arises from it, makes necessary. An enquiry that does not become a job is not kept longer than we need it.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and in some circumstances ask us to delete it or to stop using it. Contact us as above.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
